Nearly three quarters of a century ago, Alois Linden learned the art of baking as an apprentice to a master European baker. Influenced by his mentor, Alois soon began creating festive cakes and pastries of the highest quality. In 1928, Alois sold his popular Patisserie in Wiesbaden, Germany and brought his Old World recipes to the U.S. Alois and his brother Paul opened a pastry shop in Scarsdale, New York. It was here that their famed European recipe-Linden's Real Stollen-became known as a holiday delicacy. Today, Linden's continues to produce its Real Stollen with the handcrafted care that Alois and Paul insisted upon.
